SWSoft Has acquired the makers of the Helm control panel

It has been announced that SWSoft (the makers of Plesk and Virtuozzo) has acquired Webhost Automation Ltd (A UK Company). Webhost Automation (WHA) are the makers of the Helm control panel.

On the WHA website concerning the sale, it is stated that the future is �in very good hands� for Helm.

Reaction on the thriving WHA forums has been a mixture of surprise and anticipation of how the product will be taken forward. In particular, there are still many Helm v3 owners who still cannot upgrade to Helm v4 due to bugs in the upgrade tool.

This effort follows 3 automation software acquisitions that SWsoft made just months earlier - Sphera, Ensim Pro and Positive Software (Makers of HSphere).

In reality this does not leave very much competition in the web hosting control panel market.

Many Helm owners will be hoping this is a positive step forward for the Helm product, others will be looking at the few alternatives on the market.

SWSoft is an undeniable market leader in the virtualization and automation software industry. Their software products are currently used by more than 700,000 clients in 125 countries world wide. Founded in 1999, the company has offices throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
